Day 7 Yog Antigua


 
San Jose El Viejo.  I walked by this beautiful church on my way to YogAntigua which is homed in an art gallery within a beautiful boutique hotel Meson Panza Verde, at the very south end of 5th ave. The yoga instructor was so perfect as was the setting.    I then went for breakfast and did a bit more shopping before popping into Oasis Spa for some moisturizer.  They didn’t sell moisturizer so I had a treatment instead.  Great decision.  

I highly recommend this boutique hotel - starting at $100 American per night - excellent value.

Simple breakfast and those chips were so good- not sweet at all.

Camp to Aanascaul

  Leaving Camp Juction B&B off to Annascaul. Day 2 on Dingle Way.   This stream early in the day was such a pretty spot and the video is pretty funny- she’s not that bossy normally lol. We came across the cutest pair of lambs here and I’m pretty sure this is the range of the farmer I was chatting to the night before.  Annie and Stetley will get a kick out of these two. We had a couple cheese and crackers here and barb cleaned her boots a bit inside and out lol.  Turns out she’s a sheep sh. magnet.   Over the main range w Inch Beach in the background. Beaches and grassers in the same photo- loved that and they seemed to take a liking to Barb.  We saw quite a few Holstein/Angus steers in this region that farmers utilize for their extra grass.   Tom Crean was serving in the Navy in New Zealand when he saw this ad. Ireland Days1 and 2 Tralee

  Catching our first Guinness and lager after the overnight flight to Dublin.  Happy hour starts anytime in Ireland lol.  We had a 4 hour layover before catching the Ryanair flight to Kerry airport and then a short cab ride to our Airbnb in Tralee.   Our favourite pub in Tralee, great food, drink and atmosphere and the only place in town that serves dinner after 8.  After a day exploring the town and doing a bit of shopping, we bought some light snacks for our lunches and then found our trail head for tomorrow morning.  I took in a yoga class at 630 and we headed out for supper.  Not quite as lively a town as Killarney, but we will circle back there before leaving Kerry on the 24th.

Dingle to Dunquin

 Today was the nicest day of hiking and views so far.  19 km and 60 floors with less pavement and stunning views walking alongside stone fences up above the Dingle coastline.  After leaving the pavement my knee eased up and was fine for the rest of the day, even w the steep decline into Dunquin. Here we are at the tallest part of the trail before starting our descent into Dunquin. Below is the start of our hike going forward. We had a visit w these puppies as we walked by their yard. We finally made it to Krugers bar, the most westerly bar in Europe.  Very nice spot and the sun had come out so we enjoyed it on the back patio in some chairs up against the bar, for that extra warmth.  We had solid rain for the last 3 km of our walk so we needed to dry out and warm up. Today was 20 km and 168 m in elevation gain. Our bartender at Kruger’s Bar a nice young man who just finished his masters in geological disaster management.
