June 24 London w Cleo

I arrived in London last night and made my way to Stamford Brook station where Cleo collected me to take me to their home on Rylett Road.  So lovely to see her!  It has been 16 years since Cleo, Anto and the girls visited us in Canada. We will absolutely not let that happen again.  Serena is 24 this year and Jemima is 25.  Serena just dropped in for a visit and she is so absolutely stunning and full of fun and energy.  Unfortunately (not for her), Jemima is at Glastonbury Festival this weekend so I will miss her but from her instagram posts - she’s having a ball…it looks to me like Merritt Mountain Music festival on steroids.

Katie and Tom joined us for dinner here last night and it was so lovely to meet Tom and for Cleo and Anto to meet them both.  Unfortunately I was way too relaxed and enjoying the evening and my phone was in my room and so I missed taking a photo.

Serena and I and Cleo.

Serena after working all week took on a very lucrative nanny job for the weekend so the children’s parents could go to Glastonbury.  Grass doesn’t grow under her feet!  She brought two of the kids by today for tea (w of course toasted scones, clotted cream and jam) and they were so delightful.  The boy Max took the photo below.

Portebello Market

Cleo and I took Pickle for a walk in Gunnersbury
Park and then headed to Portebello Market at Nottinghill.   We stopped here for a quick lager  and the best hummus and pita we had ever tasted.  (Situational?…maybe!)
After our aft tea with Serena, Cleo and I picked some black currants from her garden and it is now cocktail hour already ….these Britts  have it so right!
Cleo made us Pims!  Such a great drink!
