Touring with the Tibbitts

Mitch, Alex and Haveeza left early to fly back to London and then home.  Max and I found a boutique shopping area close to the hotel which was super fun.  We then met Melanie and Shane at the hotel to start our tour up the west coast and inland towards Croick, where they have recently purchased property.

The next day (sat) first stop to stretch the dogs legs just off the road.  For our Canadian lumberjacks.

This is a famous store at Tindry.  It has everything for hikers and backpackers inc proper hiking boots for Mitch and we walked within 50 metres of it and didn’t know- instead Mitch bought insoles for his runners at the camp site store just below.  A must see if you are in this area - loved this store!!!

Another stop along the way to stretch our legs and admire this beautiful castle.

The kids were getting bored in the back seat so Shane stopped to buy us some road pops.

We arrived at Craigmour for the night and the beach was close by.  An after dinner scotch and walk on the beach.

The next morning at the beach again.

Our first stop on Sunday was at Ullapool where Max and I found a little sea food sandwich shop.  We picked up 6 fresh oysters which the lady shucked for us while Melanie and Shane waited in the car😬.  We enthusiastically downed them as we drove on w this beautiful shallot and red wine vinegar topping - the best oysters we had ever enjoyed and we weren’t even drinking scotch!

We stopped for lunch here and it was one of the most beautiful spots  - Kylesqu Hotel - I can’t wait to come back again and enjoy some hiking and kayaking and fishing. .  We had lunch on the deck with a lovely bottle of Pinot Blanc.  Our mussels were the best I have ever tasted.  Ok first food photo - I can’t help it they were that good!

Below are some maps of our tour.  We landed at Croick at about 430 pm and settled in before touring their  new property.

First day on the road.
