Ok back to my updates:
On Tuesday I spent most of the day in the co work room and theatre room as it was seminar day and grading. At 430, sitting up on the same barstool where I have breakfast, the bartender brought me the best mojito of my life hands down - w picito sucre.
A view of the “Pure” gym lounge area where the yoga studio is located
The view from Selina’s front steps looking at town Centro park …in the afternoons the carriages all line up here.
It was happy hour so another one shortly followed and a bit tipsy me headed off to flow yoga about a 15 min walk from Selina’s. When I arrived I was hungry so ordered a burrito at the gym canteena. What I soon discovered is two mojitos followed by a burrito is not maybe the best before a flow class. Our instructor Kimberly from California was wonderful and I’m glad I went.
On Wednesday I was up early for a teams meeting and then I headed out on a hiking tour to Mombacho Volcano.
Lake Nicauragua and Granada in the background and Mombacho in the right foreground. (Huge veg covered crater)
A fissure as the rock separated approx 2000 years ago
On the tour w me was Adrian and Selma from Paris, they are travelling through Central America for 4 months. They were absolutely lovely and we exchanged contacts on what’s app in case we are visiting each others home turf.
This is the dead forest area which is a result of the sulfur and other gasses seeping up from Senduro El Puma.
Showing gases coming out at the base
Our very sweet guide, Eric, explaining the cloud forest.
Another video of Eric talking about
The umbrella plant.
After we arrived back at Selina’s, Selma and Adrien and I exchanged photos, I answered some emails and then put my swim suit on for a dip in our pool at Selina’s.
The cocoa factory is just around the corner and their pool is much longer for laps and open for a fee so I thought I should check it out next. You could bring your own drinks here so I bought a couple of Victoria cervesas at the corner store (40 cordovas approx 1.50 can each) and enjoyed them in the late aft sun.
No yoga tonight as the hike was fairly demanding. Early to bed and tomorrow I head out by shuttle to San Juan del Sur. I have booked a yoga hostel just out of town called The Space. Quite excited for that.
