Day 2 Glencar to Glenbeigh

We started our day at Climbers Inn at Glencar.  A lovely breakfast of porridge fruit salad and yogurt.  Sad to say goodbye to the rugged remote vast rocky sheep country and the locals who inhabit this region, but off we trundled.

We walked through a beautiful forest and through many different ecosystems on our way to Windy Gap.We blew past one of the sign posts around noon and had to back track approx one km.  We then hiked up over another mountain pass and reached Windy Gap at last.  It was aptly named as the wind whistled through this gap in the rock.  On the other side of the summit was an amazing view of Glenbeigh, which was our destination for today.

A typical Scottish black face on our ascent to Windy Gap.

Today was a much easier day at 15km and 105 floors.  We arrived in early afternoon, and lounged at our air bnb until dinner when we walked down the road to another charming pub for a pint and a wee bit of food.
